How To Use Public Domain to Earn an Income

Let's explore a few other ways you can profit from public domain before we move onto how to find public domain works for your own online business income.

1. Shortcut Your Start Up Business

Access to public domain works solves one of the top three problems start up entrepreneurs have - having a product to sell.

It's no secret that one of the most lucrative business models, both online and off, is to sell information. For many, the option of writing their own information product is too big of a challenge either because they don't like to write, can't think of a topic to write about, or just don't want to write.

Furthermore, money in the start up phase of any business is limited - which completely rules out hiring a freelance writer to create information products for you.

Another option to finding ready-made content - which can be a crap shoot at best - is to buy resale rights to quality products (often sight unseen). The competition in the resale market can be fierce if hundreds or thousands have also purchased the same resale rights to those products.

2. Add A New Product to Your Existing Offerings

As (...edited out...) and many others have done, if you know your market well enough you'll also know what types of public domain products they would want to own.

Whether it be the timeless secrets to building wealth or the horse training tips from the circus trainers of the 1900s, you can find a public domain product your past, present, and future customers will both want to buy and love to own.

3. Use Public Domain Works for Website Content

I'm surprised more people don't do this as it is a shortcut to keyword rich pages that earn points with the search engines – increasing your website's visitor value while positioning your website as an authority in search results. 4. Use Public Domain Content to Gain Subscribers

This is one of the more advanced techniques for making money online but it could very well be one of the most lucrative in the long run. Using public domain content to gain a subscriber base works exceptionally well with the smaller markets that are initially distrustful, have never bought anything online, and don't like being 'sold' to.
